New Favorite Show?

I just watch the first three episodes of "The Colony" online and I feel like I learned some stuff. It's reality tv, key word being "TV". The "colonists" are hand-picked (there are 3 different types of engineers, a contractor, and a professional handy-man, just to name a few), so it's not entirely realistic to assume they represent the average person.

i remember seeing a commercial for this. i just thought "oh god not another scripted "reality" show." eh, i'll give it a shot....

It doesn't feel "scripted" to me, but there are little things I notice that seem out-of-place. The colonists go out for water once, take carts full of containers, and return later with one. Later they have both carts and I thought maybe they had a little help pulling the couple hundred pounds back. There are 1-2 of the cast members who are active on the forum and one of them explained it as "we made 2 different trips that day and it was edited down to look like 1 trip for time-constraints for tv. Obviously there has to be some editing involved because each show is 3-4 days i think. and the same member said they usually had 40-50 hrs of video for every one hour show.

Sounds really interesting, though I'm not a big fan of reality shows.
Anyways, I'm gonna give it a try.

The Colony has been over for awhile already. This season anyway.

Twas a good show, accidents happened like Mike gets his head split open and everybody is scared, had a lot of good advice for survival but they had like a whole team of people behind the scenes saying "Nope that will kill you" so its real to a degree.

I remember I was so excited about this show but never got a chance to watch it. No cable.

If I had been a more diligent member I might have noticed that it was available online before it was too late. I've lamed all over myself on this one.

No worries, it may still be up. To be completely honest I was a little disappointed.
