percussion bombs/Diversions
You could get one on a timer(long fuse, or set up some kind of electric system) to use as a diversion.
I got the idea of percussion bombs a few years ago after making one for some things i was doing that i will plead the fifth on....
Any other idea's?

Re: percussion bombs/Diversions
Diversion for what? I don't think zombies would really care about loud noises if getting shot doesn't bother them much.

Re: percussion bombs/Diversions
if zombies go for people they are using there sences to find people. when people here a loud noise there first instinct is to look towards it's source then try to determine its source but when animals hear load noises there first instinct is to run or look at the source if it far away then run if they don't feel safe. loud noises would either make zombies run or go to the noise to find out what it is. but the noise would need to be reoccuring other wise the zombies might loose intrest or not arive at the location your trying to lure them to.

What you're saying about animals is true but zombies don't have that same instinct for self-preservation that humans and animals do so they would just walk/run towards any loud noise to see if there was anything to eat, since that is pretty much their only thought. I think that explosives could be useful for distraction purposes, also it'd be a fantastic morale boost to have a really large explosion and then any zombies in the area just walk away from you. Well, for me at least. And no, I don't have pyromaniac/whatever-the-hell-the-Latin-for-explosion-is-manic tendancees

Re: percussion bombs/Diversions
Interesting hypothesis, I do believe this is calls for an experiment; take a rabid dog, then set off an explosion and see what it does during several states of aggression. Theoretical it should recreate the reactions of a rage zombie.

I think this would only work to lure zombies to a location BEFORE they saw/heard/smelled you. They would be more interested in actual person than a loud noise.
