Re: Best weapon for Z day
I don't know guns so I don't exactly know what I'm talking about, but what about some sort of long distance rifle with a soft bullet(like the kind that will do huge damage and obliterate a head instead of making a small hole in it)? Shoot from far away doing massive damage. That shotgun is beautiful, just kinda shorter range than I'd like.
Also here's the video embedded incase people are lazy
Edit: Those rounds a the end wit fin stabilizers, WOW. Lets it go like what did it say? 150 meters? AND can be High Explosive

Re: Best weapon for Z day
A good crowbar (by good I mean GOOD google "stanley fubar")
crowbars are nice. The right shovel can be sharpened to take off zombie heads, dig latrines, dig traps, moats, crutches, support post, idk. http://www.amazon.com/Radius-Garden-Natural-Spade-201/dp/B000QV0896/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1257656845&sr=1-15

Or um a smaller military folding shovel those can double as a pick and are good for digging fast and hand to hand combat.

If you have any kind of open area, make a forge and make some swords and axes, I use leaf springs from cars for stock and they're just about great, and cheap. of course you need some material, forge, hammer, anvil, quenching liquid, and lots of coal, so maybe its not practical unless you really like metal work, you could do it the easy way with an angle grinder and a piece of good steel I guess.
I'm a big fan of wood splitting mauls, I got one from a flea market thats pretty awesome and for 5 bucks too.

Or find any suitable unsharpened straight flat piece of metal (I found one on a snow shovel) then you can sharpen it alt of ways, dragin it on the concrete, or um, with a chisel of some kind, or a file, but it takes alot of patience and ofc its not gonna look pretty. I got something razor sharp just with a chisel and a file
http://www.instructables.com/id/Binder-Knife/ <--example of a straight flat piece of metal, of course we will probably want something bigger

lol There's a crowbar called the fubar? That's great. Fucked up beyond all recognition! Good selling point for a crowbar.

other weapon ideas
actually since giving it some thought all you really need is a angle grinder and some thick metal about 20 cm, dosnt really matter just a rough guess. grind down the edge to about a 20-25 degree angle. a friend of mine made one and this baby could cleave throug the roof of a car
