Zombie Fan Fiction
OK everyone, I'm going to post some info on what I've written under a different pen name and actually posted on a couple sites. The motivation behind this is that with review, it can only get better. Currently I'm doing a rewrite that creates background and history for the characters as well as adding in real world locations. Don't worry, unlike that high school student a few years back who wrote a zombie fan fiction piece about his school and was arrested and questioned by Homeland Security, I'm well past high school and have no issues with using real world places and locations. If anyone has any issues with my using said locations, they can discuss those issues with my attorney as I'm only using artistic license in my work. The concept of having problems with using said locations is really mentally deficient as published authors do so in their works and seem to have no problems with it.
Enough of my ranting. Now on to the good parts.
The story is called Up From the Depths (not to be confused with the 1979 film of the same name) and details survivors around the nation as they deal with a viral outbreak that turns infected people into mindless killing machines. Oh, one other thing, not only do they kill, but as a side effect the virus reanimates the dead victims. Within the story we have two types of zombies.
Type 1: the newly infected that can move quite fast.
Type 2: the victims of Type 1 who weren't eaten, at least not all the way, that move a bit slow(er) but are just as deadly however their 'lifespan' is decreased due to decay and the laws of thermodynamics.
Here is a brief synopsis:
Up From the Depths
In a world gone mad, the crew of the aging Ohio class submarine, Claggett, are all that’s left to stop the flow of infection from spreading. While on a routine training mission, the Claggett receives a cryptic message from CINPAC; “The nation has been exposed to a biological event that is driving everyone mad. Shoot on sight any infected.”
Now Captain David Powell and SEAL Team Lieutenant James Willis must fight a battle against the rising tide of the ‘undead’. From remote lighthouses to huge sprawling metroplexes, the crew of this aging former ballistic missile submarine and SEAL Team Shark must race against time to rescue survivors and find a possible cure for this psychopathic; lobotomizing virus or the world as they know it will end in screams, blood and the sound of flesh being ripped from their bodies.
Inspired by the works of George A. Romero

Once i read the words "In a world gone mad" I immediately thought of the typical kind of action/disaster movie voice over in trailers and thought; epic, for the rest of the synopsis.
