Summer Training: entry level minimalistic|survival style camping
As an idea, I suggest all members who are not familiar with remote minimalistic|survival camping style to give it a shot over the summer and learn how to with this weekend to week-long easy level scenario, this will be a riverside/lakeside campaign designed to ease the need of carrying potable water and to help with not getting lost so pick a river to hike down and back along or a large lake to hike around close to your home for ease of accessibility.
The main point of this is to become comfortable with walking around in nature for days on end BY YOURSELF and listening/observing the environment around you while learning how and what works for you in a minimal/survival scenario. If you have only ever been to state campgrounds where you have 300 other people around at all times, this will be the perfect exercise to acclimate to the realization that you could be all alone, the nearest living being from your species could be 10-20 miles away. If you're not used to this sensation it could be crippling to you come zompocalypse or other natural/political disaster that forces you to head out on your own if you are not prepared for the shock of becoming a totally autonomous individual separated from a society. This should also be treated as an E&E drill. Do your best to avoid contact. Stay aware.
suggested supplies you will need:
FOOD}
A bulkbag of high-carb cereal like granola with enough for 1-2 cups for each planned day out
A package of tuna (not the cans!) or other meat source for each day (homemade dried beef and such, stay away from cans!!)
Instant mashed potatoes, 1 cup worth for each day
A Ramen noodle tray pack for each day. Ramen noodle cups are just as lightweight but 2-3 times as bulky
A bulkbag of dried fruits&veggies, a cups' worth for each day
crackers and a small container of crunchy peanut butter for snacks
if you don't have access to a dehydrator watch youtube vids on how to dehydrate food with a conventional oven

strike anywhere matches in a waterproof container, magnesium block or sparksticks to practice firecraft
CLOTHING}(...besides what you will be wearing)
A pair of shorts, two pair of socks, two pair of underwear and a extra shirt
or if you're a bad enough dude...
THE UTILIKILT!!

THIS IS ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS YOU WILL BE GIVEN.
YOU ARE AN INDIVIDUAL, THINK FOR YOURSELF.
